This 2 October box office will witness a clash between two big movies - Singh Is Bliing and Talvar - starring two big stars of Bollywood.

"Singh Is Bliing" is a commercial film starring Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Lara Dutta and Kay Kay Menon. Prabhu Deva's directorial film is an action comedy film.

On the other hand, "Talvar" directed by Meghna Gulzar features Irrfan Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi. "Talvar" is said to be a content driven film based on a true story, whereas "Singh Is Bliing" is a comedy entertainer.

So which film will overshadow other at the box office? Well, trade analysts believe "Talvar" has an edge over "Singh Is Bliing" as Vishal Bhardwaj's name is associated with the film.

Last year, Shahid Kapoor's "Haider" was released along with Hrithik Roshan's "Bang Bang". Both the films opened to a good response at the box office, but it was "Haider" that went on to bag several awards.

And this year too, trade analysts are positive that "Talvar" based on the Aarushi Talwar's murder case will win audience's hearts.

"The two films belong to different genres and have separate audiences. Of course, Talvar has an edge because Vishal Bhardwaj's name is associated with it," distributor and exhibitor Rajesh Thadani said.

"Surprisingly for the second time in a row October 2, is having a clash of content and commerce. Talvar is pitted against a much bigger film Singh Is Bliing, very much like the Haider and Bang Bang contest of last year. The appeal and the audience of these two films are completely different but increasingly good content films are scoring even at the box office now," an industry observer said.

"Last year, Haider scored a moral victory over Bang Bang," said another industry observer.
