Check out the Chennai box office collection report of Suriya's "Anjaan", Siddharth's "Jigarthanda", Bharath's "Aindhaam Thalaimurai Siddhar Vaidhya Sigamani" and Parthiepan's "Kadhai Thiraikkadhai Vasanam Iyakkam."

"Anjaan"

Suriya's "Anjaan" dominates the Chennai box office with no competition around. The film took a grand opening upon its release owing to huge pre-release buzz.

However, its performance declined with some negative word of mouth spreading about the gangster flick. Several shows have been reduced and allotted to Partheipan's latest release "KTVS."

Still, "Anjaan" remains on the top in the Chennai box office and has minted ₹3.92 crore in 10 days, according to Behindwoods.

"Kadhai Thiraikkadhai Vasanam Iyakkam" (KTVS)

Partheipan's "KTVS" is picking up well at the Chennai box office. The film, which hit the screens on 15 August, was sidelined owing to the release of Suriya's "Anjaan".

However, the film picked up well in the following days as "Anjaan" received mixed reviews from the critics as well as from the audience.

"KTVS" has taken an above average opening and has minted over ₹53 lakh at the Chennai box office. With the film receiving decent reviews, it is expected to continue its good run for another week.

"Aintham Thalaimurai Siddha Vaithya Sigamani" (ATSVS)

Bharath's "ATSVS" took an average opening at the Chennai box office by minting over ₹17 lakh in its first weekend.

"ATSVS", which hit the screens on 22 August, received poor reviews from the critics. How the film performs in the coming days is something one needs to wait and watch. With several releases planned for 29 August, the Bharath starrer stands a lesser chance to rake in some decent collections.

"Jigarthanda"

Siddharth's "Jigarthanda", which received critical acclaim from critics and the audience, has turned out to be an above average film at the box office.

The release of "Anjaan" seems to have affected the film's business, though the musical gangster flick continues to hold on well in multiplexes. "Jigarthanda" has minted ₹2.81 crore (till 24 August) at the Chennai box office, reported Behindwoods

The film has witnessed 60 percent average theatre occupancy during the weekend, the website stated.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, "Jigarthanda" has Siddharth, Simha, Karunakaran and Lakshmi Menon in pivotal roles. Several critics, film celebrities, including Maniratnam, Shankar, K. V. Anand, Ravi K Chandran and actor Vijay gave rave reviews for the film. Simha's performance won accolades from all sections of people.

"Jigarthanda" is all set to be remade in Hindi, according to the latest reports. However, details about the cast and crew for the Hindi version are not yet known.
