Hollywood movie The Nun is off to a good start at the Chennai box office. The English film has overpowered new and previous-week's Tamil movies in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
In the first weekend, The Nun has collected Rs 1.41 crore from over 222 shows at the Chennai box office. It is considered to be a huge number for a Hollywood film.
Nayanthara's Imaikka Nodigal is in the second place at the Chennai box office. It had 243 shows from which the movie raked in 1.27 crore. The 11-day total collection of the film stands at Rs 4.40 crore.
Nayan's another flick Kolamavu Kokila is in the third place by earning Rs 18.09 lakh from 99 shows. By the end of its fourth week, the total collection of the movie stands at Rs 5.35 crore.
New release Vanjagar Ulagam has collected Rs 14.40 lakh from 63 shows, Hindi film Stree has collected Rs 12.67 lakh from 42 shows to take its total tally to Rs 42.97 lakh, while latest Hindi film Paltan has earned Rs 6.56 lakh from 27 shows.
New Bollywood movie Laila Majnu has raked in Rs 5.28 lakh from 27 shows, latest Tamil film Thodraa has earned Rs 2.47 lakh from 18 shows, Merku Thodarchi Malai has collected Rs 1.75 lakh from 12 shows to take its total tally to 25.62 lakh and Annanukku Jey has earned Rs 1.45 lakh from 9 shows to end its 10-day collection at Rs 51.52 lakh.
