"Arima Nambi"

Vikram Prabhu-Priya Anand starrer "Arima Nambi" has opened to positive response in its first weekend.

The action entertainer is estimated to have grossed over ₹82 lakh at the Chennai box office. However, the film witnessed only an average theatre occupancy of 75 percent in the opening weekend, reported Behindwoods website.

"Arima Nambi" received good reviews from critics as well as from celebrities upon its release.

The film seems to have impressed the audience as well, which is evident from the opening weekend collections. Positive word of mouth is expected to help the film perform well in the weekdays. It is likely to continue its good run at the box office, until new films hit the screens this Friday (11 July).

Directed by Anand Shankar, "Arima Nambi" has Priya Anand playing the female lead opposite Vikram Prabhu. The film also has JD Chakravarthy, Yog Japee, MS Bhaskar and Lekha Washington in supporting roles.

Saivam

Director Vijay's "Saivam," which received positive reviews from critics, has been doing average business at the box office. The film took a decent opening in its first weekend, but its collections dropped in the second.

The family entertainer has reportedly grossed over ₹67 lakh in ten days at the Chennai box office.

Vadacurry

Jai-Swati Reddy's "Vadacurry" has turned out to be an average fare at the Chennai box office. The film has minted over ₹1.6 crore at the end of the third weekend, reported Behindwoods.

The comedy entertainer took a good opening in the first weekend, but the film's business has dropped due to new releases.

"Mundasupatti"

Vishnu Vishal's "Mundasupatti," which hit the screens on 13 June, has managed to hold well at the box office despite new releases in the last few weeks. The film has turned out to be a hit at the box office. It has raked in more than ₹1.5 crore at the end of the fourth weekend in Chennai.

Besides these films, Vemal-Lakshmi Menon's "Manjapai" and Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan" are still running in a few theatres. "Manjapai" has been declared a hit, while "Kochadaiiyaan" performance has been above average, considering the huge budget of the film.
