"Blindspot" Season 1 went on a mid-season break after airing Episode 10, titled "Evil Handmade Instrument", on 23 November. The NBC show will be on a long hiatus and is expected to return with Episode 11 only on 29 February, 2016. And according to executive producer Martin Gero's statement during a recent interview, it looks like Jane may get confused about her feelings for Oscar and Agent Kurt Weller.
In episode 10, we saw how the team was able to nab the Russian spy that killed Patterson's boyfriend. And at the end of the episode, Jane, to celebrate their victory, sneaked into Weller's place and kissed him. But later, she was kidnapped by Carter, who was desperate to discover Jane's real identity.
The mid-season finale ended by showing a mysterious man, who's supposed to be Jane's ex (the tree tattoo guy), came to her rescue and killed Carter. But his entry has shaken all the dynamics and everything else in Jane's life as he produced a video of the past-Jane revealing that Jane herself is to be blamed for her current life, tattoos and memory loss.
Though NBC hasn't released any official synopsis for the mid-season premiere, Gero, in his interview has clearly said that Jane's present life will get totally complicated by her past. According to the executive producer, Oscar is the one who know more about Jane than anyone else in the show and can help her discover her real identity.
"As uneasy as she feels about the whole thing, she suddenly has a direct line to some truth. Also, she remembers being engaged to him. She remembers the feelings she had toward him. Even though she might have trouble reconciling who she was in the past, you can't deny the fact that there's now someone standing in front of her that knows way more than anyone on the entire show," Gero said.
And there will be a love triangle between Oscar-Weller-Jane. "A triangle develops between Oscar, Weller and Jane — not even a love one, but suddenly Weller's not the guy that understands her the most. There's somebody out there that knows her a lot better, but she doesn't know if she can trust him. She knows she can trust Weller," Gero teased.
Now, Jane has discovered traces of her romantic past with Oscar, she knows that he is somebody who knows her lot better and can also help her discover her real identity and the reason behind her present state — will Jane end up choosing Oscar over Weller after all these new developments?
We will have to wait for the series to return.
