In the past year, over 60 women came forward and accused America's former favourite dad Bill Cosby of sexual assault – ranging from drugging, unwelcome touching and even raping. And while almost the entire world is in agreement that these 60 women are stating the truth, Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has refused to file charges against Cosby in the two cases that are in their confines.

The two accusers from the LA county are listed as Jane Doe No. 1 and No. 2, but the latter's lawyer has identified Jane Doe No.2 as Chloe Goins, who had accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting her at the Playboy Mansion in August 2008. This was one of the few open investigations against Cosby that we knew about.

However, LA DA's office has revealed that they were barred from prosecuting Cosby for charges of misdemeanours because of the statute of limitations. Although they looked into possible felony charges like sexual battery by restraint, they could not proceed in that regard either due to insufficient proof.

Responding to the verdict, Chris Tayback, Cosby's lawyer was quoted as saying by CNN, "We are satisfied that the Los Angeles DA's office fully and fairly evaluated all the facts and evidence, and came to the right conclusion".

There are still many cases lined up against Cosby, and despite the support of his attorneys there is one strong presence in his life that will be missing in the future; his wife Camille Cosby. Through all the allegations in the past, Camille has stood by her husband, claiming his innocence, but now she has taken a stand and that it is not next to Cosby.

She was even absent during Cosby's appearance at the Pennsylvania courtroom last week. A close source told Page Six that Camille believes Cosby deserves "every bit of the hell he's going through now even though he is still pretending that this hell doesn't exist". However, she did claim that he did not deserve jail.

The source further added that Camille is angry and feels humiliated, but none of it is directed towards the women alleging that Cosby assaulted them. "Bill has humiliated her, and the affairs he's had have gotten out of hand and this [criminal charge] is him reaping what he's sown."

The source further stated that Camille is aware she cannot be forced to testify against her husband and so she will be taking part in none of this. She is still married to him only because of the "court stuff" and the "criminal stuff".
