Bilaspur, Nov 11 (ANI): After eight women lost lives due to sterilisation surgeries went wrong in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, state Chief Minister Raman Singh said that four doctors involved were suspended and a case of criminal offense has been filed against them. Singh also said that the case is of medical negligence by the doctors and will be dealt with seriously by the state government. He also announced compensation of Rs. 4 lakh to families of dead and free medical treatment and Rs.50,000 to those undergoing treatment in hospital. Eight women had died after they underwent sterilisation surgeries at a camp on the outskirts of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. The women had been discharged on Saturday after being given medicines. However, within 24 hours of the surgery, many women complained of vomiting and abdominal pain.
