The August 22 episode of Bigg Boss Malayalam began with clashes between Ranjini Haridas and Basheer Bashi. Basheer Bashi, without the permission of the yellow team, entered the bedroom. When the yellow team gave Basheer a punishment, he refused to cooperate.
The attitude of Basheer Bashi irked Ranjini Haridas to the core and she started shouting at the Kochi-based model. Archana Suseelan started talking in favour of Ranjini and argued that Basheer should be punished as he broke the law. Ranjini loudly said that Basheer is an arrogant person.
Ranjini soon started another problem stating that she wants to go to the bathroom. After performing the punishment, Ranjini entered the bathroom. In the meantime, Basheer entered the bedroom again which made Ranjini angry.
Ranjini Haridas asked the house captain Anoop to give punishment to Basheer. As Anoop Chandran neglected Ranjini's words, the Idea Star Singer anchor alleged that the captain is biased.
In the meantime, Hima Shankar and Sabumon Abdusamad too started quarrelling inside the house. Hima Shankar blamed Sabumon for using Hit (a pesticide to kill insects) inside the kitchen. Pearle Maaney too supported Hima and both of them threw Hit outside the Bigg Boss house.
After some time, all the contestants shared their worries about the current floods which hit Kerala.
Archana had the habit of calling the camera 'Ramesh' all the time. Ranjini Haridas and Sabumon asked Archana to stop this habit and Ranjini speculated that there might be a real Ramesh on the other end. The statement from Ranjini Haridas made Archana tensed, and she started worrying about the repercussions. Later, Ranjini tried to console the serial actress.
Sabumon and Hima tried to sort out the problems which persist between the two. Later, all the contestants lighted candles and prayed for the flood victims in Kerala.
Ranjini Haridas informed Bigg Boss that Archana has some psychological issues which should be addressed urgently. By making this comment, Ranjini was actually referring to Archana's habit of talking to the camera.
As usual, Pearle Maaney and Srinish started talking late at night. Pearle once again told Srinish that she is in love with him.
