Bigg Boss 12 is all set to roll out the red carpet for 21 "vichitra" contestants who will enter the house in the form of jodis (pairs) -- a mix of celebs and commoners.

Make no mistake, there will be single contestants as well. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will once again turn host for the 12th edition of the controversial reality show which is being touted as the spiciest season ever.

As Bigg Boss 12 fans are getting restless with each passing day, here's what you can expect on your plate in the upcoming season.

Bigg Boss 12 start date and where to watch

The latest promos of Bigg Boss 12 have revealed that the show will air its grand premiere on September 16. With just 10 days remaining for the show, viewers can tune in to Colors TV channel to watch BB season 12 from Monday to Sunday at 9 pm.

This time, the makers of Bigg Boss have come up with a 'jodi' theme called "Vichitra" or "unique jodis" in which contestants will enter Bigg Boss house in pairs for the first time. The pairs could be married or unmarried couples, siblings, friends, and mother and father-in-law as well.

Rumour has it that even Salman Khan will be hosting the show in a pair and Katrina Kaif's name is currently doing rounds as the top contender for a co-host with the Dabangg Khan.

Bigg Boss 12 contestants list

During the Bigg Boss 12 press conference in Goa on September 4, Salman Khan revealed that the first jodi of BB season 12 is - Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya - a real-life married couple.

Apart from the official announcement, it is being said that Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress Tanushree Dutta and her sister Ishita Dutta will be entering the house as the second jodi of the season.

Dipika Kakar's name has also cropped up in the list of probable contestants. Earlier, it was reported that the TV actress will enter the house with her husband Shoaib Ibrahim. However, it is now being said that Dipika will now enter solo in the Bigg Boss 12 house.

According to reports, Shaleen Bhanot, ex-husband of TV actress Dalljiet Kaur, will reportedly be entering solo in Bigg Boss 12 house and will apparently charge Rs 35 thousand per week.

A source had earlier given IBTimes India a list of probable contestants who are likely to enter Bigg Boss 12. Here are a few -- Puru Chibber and Vibha Chibber (son/mother), Shafaq Naaz and Falaq Naaz (Sisters), Siddharth Sagar and Subuhi Joshi. (Comedian couple), Ritvik Dhanjani and Asha Negi (TV couple), Mahika Sharma and British adult movie star Danny D (co-actors) and Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar (Bollywood couple).

It is also being said that Robin Gujar, a Noida resident, and his mom Shyamvati have been chosen as the commoner child-parent jodi.

Earlier, reports were doing the rounds that Shanti Dynamite, a British adult movie star of Indian and Greek descent, will be stepping into the house to raise glamour quotient of the reality show. However, there is no official confirmation of her entry in Bigg Boss 12.

Unlike other seasons, this time Salman Khan will be given a special power to stop evictions on weekend episodes. He will also be seen interacting with the contestants in a classroom through smartboard.
