The 10th edition of Colors' controversial reality show "Bigg Boss" will hit the screens in October and Salman Khan, who has been associated with the show since the fourth season, will reprise his role as the host for this season as well. "Bigg Boss 10" will see a change in the format, and now common people will be participating on the show along with celebrities.

While fans of the show are eagerly waiting for the new season to go on air, the latest buzz is that "Bigg Boss 10" will have a total of 16 contestants. Eight celebrities and eight commoners will be confined in the glass-walled house, India Today reported.

Participants from among the public will be selected based on their performance in the audition round, where they have to explain why they fit into the format of the show.

Salman has already shot for the promo, before leaving for Ladakh for the filming of his upcoming movie, "Tubelight," directed by Kabir Khan. Interestingly, the "Sultan" actor who had charged Rs. 6 to 8 crore per episode last year, has agreed to a fee cut. Instead, he has asked Colors channel to contribute a huge sum to his charitable organisation, Being Human.

Meanwhile, the makers have managed to keep the list of participants under wraps. However, a few names of possible contestants have surfaced online. Balraj Singh Khehra, who won "MTV Roadies X4," had expressed his willingness to join "Bigg Boss 10." Santosh Bateshwar Ray, who was slapped by Govinda eight years ago for apparently misbehaving on the sets of the film, "Money Hai Toh Honey Hai," has apparently been approached to participate on the show.
