After releasing a new single last week, American rapper Big Sean has now dropped a huge surprise by announcing a collaborative project named "Twenty88" with hip hop artiste Jhene Aiko. The duo also announced their self-titled debut album, due April 1, 2016, through two teasers on their Twitter profiles recently, and changed their profile pictures to the album cover almost simultaneously.

The album will be available for purchase on iTunes and will stream on Tidal exclusively for 72 hours before being available on other streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. Well-known hip hop artistes and record producers Key Wane, Tommy Brown and Detail have taken up the role of producers in this album.

According to a press release by Tidal, the album will focus on "the story of the highs and lows of a relationship, with insights into conflict, memories, love, sex, and more. [sic]"

The combination of Sean and Aiko should be quite intriguing to see. Aiko's gentle and emotive voice, when blended with Sean's powerful songwriting, could produce something quite unprecedented. However, this is not the first time the duo has collaborated. They had earlier worked together on "Beware" from "Hall of Fame" and "I know" from "Dark Sky Paradise," Sean's second and third albums, respectively.

Check out the two teasers below.
