In a news that is bound to disappoint many Batman Arkham fans, the last in the series, Batman: Arkham Knight has been delayed to 2015, from its earlier date of late 2014. The delay is expected to help its developers, Rocksteady Games in making a better version than its predecessors.

However, the delay has not put the brakes in the reveal of a Batmobile Battle mode, which will be demoed during the E3 2014, CVG reported. Rocksteady has also released a new trailer that boasts the firepower in the new Batmobile.

The video shows Batmobile's transformation into a tank, when it is in battle mode. This special vehicle comes with heavy firepower like:

  • The 60mm Cannon that has a Kinetic energy penetrator as its ammunition.
  • The Vulcan Gun has Armor-piercing incendiary as its ammunition. This weapon is mostly used as an anti-tank and for surface-to-air combat.
  • Missile Barrage is another offensive weapon that will come with Laser and GPS guidance and these rockets can destroy up to six enemies, simultaneously.
  • Riot Suppressor comes with non-lethal slam round and it will disable the attackers with long-term trauma.

Some of the images revealed show the usage of tanks in the streets of Gotham and soldiers carrying heavy weapon and in suits. We can also see the existence of attack helicopters, which must be mostly like the close air support attack helicopters of the current world.

The Batmobile will start strafing side to side, allowing it to effectively take on the drones and helicopters sent by Arkham Knight. The car has two modes, the pursuit mode when players can fire up their afterburners and go hi-speed through the Gotham streets. Then there is the Battle mode that subtly changes the vehicle – changing lights from blue to red.

Previously it was also seen that this amazing Batmobile is able to jump gaps, drive up the walls, and bulldoze anything before it – trees, concrete barriers and more.

Batman: Arkham Knight which will be the finale among the Arkham series, takes place after the events of Arkham City with Batman being at the height of his powers. The title will see a series of rivals coming to Gotham with the single intention of eliminating Batman forever.

The game brings a new villain to the series, Arkham Knight. This was a character that was created only for the game and does not exist in the comics. Geoff Johns, the writer of Green Lantern, Aquaman and Justice League was the creator of this character, who will be a more militarized version of Batman and poses a real challenge to Batman.

The game is expected to be bigger than its predecessors. We have also seen a good amount of details in all the aspects of the game be it Gotham city, Batman himself, Batmobile and more. The environment in the game has been created with great detail – videos show us the rain splatters and the armor looking much real and fluid. Even the scenes where Batman jumps out of his vehicle are charged with lithe and ferocity.

Batman Arkham Knight will be landing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2015
