Barcelona forward Neymar says that he does not have any plans of following his former teammate Alexis Sanchez's footsteps to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old, who completed a reported €87.2 million from Santos to Barcelona in the summer of 2013, has been very impressive for the Catalans, forming a formidable partnership with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez up front this season.

His form has attracted the attention of many clubs and there have been rumours of the Brazilian following the footsteps of his former teammates Cesc Fabragas and Alexis Sanchez to the Premier League this summer.

Although Neymar, who was recently united with Sanchez in London during Brazil's 1-0 win over Chile in an international friendly fixture, says that he is happy to see his former teammate do so well at Arsenal, he insists that he is not looking to follow him to the Premier League.

"Alexis is a big friend and someone who I had the privilege of playing with at Barcelona. We used to get along very well on and off the field, so I'm very happy to see him so well at Arsenal," Neymar told Goal.

"As for playing in England myself, I'm very happy playing for Barcelona and I still have a long road to walk here."

Sanchez, meanwhile, returned Neymar's sentiments by lauding the Brazil forward's spirit.

"Neymar raised everyone's spirits as he is a very joyful person," Sanchez told ESPN. "I hope he never changes. His happiness is contagious and that's something I really like."

The 26-year-old Chilean, who has scored 13 goals in the Premier League so far this season, went on to praise Neymar's quality, insisting that "no one would dare" to do the things with the ball that he has been doing.

"Regarding his quality, I cannot come up with something new," added the former Udinese forward. "Everybody knows how good he is. He dares to so some stuff with the ball no one would dare to that. That's the beauty of football."
