Dhaka, Feb 06 (ANI): Bangladesh Gonojagoron Mancha (people's resurgence platform) took to streets in Dhaka to protest a spate of political violence and militancy in the country. Activists gathered at the Shahbagh area with the Bangladesh flag and chanted slogans against the violence that has gripped the nation since the start of this year. The country has been in the grip of an indefinite transport blockade from January 05 since opposition Bangladesh National Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia made the announcement after being prevented from holding a rally in the capital. At least 53 have died in attacks in past one month as vehicles are targeted with bombs. On this day in 2013, Gonojagoron Mancha was formed by thousands of protestors to protest the life imprisonment of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Quader Mollah, who convicted of genocide during 1971 liberation struggle from Pakistan.
