Dhaka, Dec 23: People in Bangladesh celebrated the execution of Abdul Qader Mullah, a senior Jamaat leader, who was described by prosecutors as the "Butcher of Mirpur" for crimes committed by him during the 1971 war.He was executed at the Dhaka Central Jail on December 12, 2013. People took out procession across Bangladesh to celebrate the historic moment as it came days before the country's "Victory Day" on December 16. Four other leading figures in Jamaat-e-Islami have also been convicted by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) and face the death penalty.
