Interestingly, two important members of the Nandamuri clan - Balakrishna's elder brother Harikrishna and his son Jr NTR - were missing from the wedding. Sources told The Times of India that Jr NTR received the wedding invitation only on Tuesday (20 August), just a day before the wedding. His father was reportedly displeased over the way his son was treated and chose to skip the wedding. But his other son, Kalyan Ram (step-brother of Jr NTR), attended the ceremony.

Bride-groom Sribharat is the son of MSP Rama Rao and the grandson of MVVS Murthi, former Telugu Desam Party MP from Visakhapatnam and also an educationist who heads the prestigious Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) group of educational institutions. The wedding celebrations were telecast live on a local TV channel.

According to a report in Indiaglitz.com, the wedding mandap (stage) was suspended in the air with the help of a crane. The mandap was 140 feet wide and accommodated around 350 people at a time.
