The state of Jammu and Kashmir is hosting the 2013-2014 Ranji matches that are being played between the host team and the team of Goa. The Ranji Match is being played in valley after a long time as the only stadium in valley was under renovation. Other side, the delay in construction of Kandi irrigation canal in district Doda irks the farmers who are living around this canal. Locals allege that the construction agency is using sub standard material in constructing this canal. Beyond this, the saffron growth this year is grim due to lack of rainfall at proper time.
