The Tamil Nadu audience have given a warm welcome to the second instalment of Baahubali 2. SS Rajamouli's film has been released in over 350 screens in the state. On the opening day, the movie made a collection over Rs 11 crore, making it the second biggest opener of the year after Vijay's Bairavaa, which minted over Rs 12 crore on the opening day.

On its first day, the morning shows of Baahubali 2 in Tamil Nadu were cancelled over financial issues between the distributor and producer. This had a huge impact on the business of the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer as it could have easily added another Rs 2-4 crore to its total tally.

Nonetheless, the audience thronged into theatres in big numbers on its second day and the advance booking gives an indication of it. More or less, Baahubali 2 is expected to add around Rs 7-9 crore on its second day to cross the Rs 20 crore mark.

In Chennai, the movie earned a little over Rs 91 lakh on the first day and the three-day first weekend collection should be above Rs 2.75 crore, predicts trade experts.

The Tamil Nadu theatrical rights have been sold for Rs 47 crore and the movie should enjoy good viewership for the next couple of days to be in the profit zone.

With Monday being a holiday, the future of Baahubali 2 looks to be bright not only in Tamil Nadu, but across the world. The movie, which has Anushka Shetty and Tamannah Bhatia in female leads, minted over Rs 200 crore on the first day at the worldwide box office.
