More than its stellar cast, which has more or less been finalised, Milan Luthria's "Baadshaho" has been in the news for clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees" on Jan. 26, 2017. However, the latest update may change things a little.

Up until a few weeks ago, Ajay Devgn, Vidyut Jammwal and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were to be joined by Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh. But sources say Emraan Hashmi has taken the "Udta Punjab" star's place after he quoted a huge sum of money as his fee.

If Emraan steps in then it will be a reunion of sorts. The last time Ajay, Emraan and Milan came together was six years ago when "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai" opened in theatres.

An insider told DNA that Diljit wants to only do meaty roles now and not get pushed to the peripherals in an ensemble cast.

"Diljit showed interest in the role of the army officer but then at the time of signing the contract, he quoted a fabulous sum as his fee. Actors use the big fat fee excuse to worm their way out of films. After Udta Punjab, he only wants to do meaty roles in Hindi films. In his next 'Phillauri,' he will woo Anushka Sharma. Diljit now feels it's better to go with solo leads rather than risk being lost in the big cast," the source elaborated.

"Baadshaho" focuses on the 1975 emergency and a stolen treasure. While Ajay will be seen playing a thief, Aishwarya's is a role modelled on Maharani Gayatri Devi. Vidyut will essay the character of an undercover cop.
