"Awkward" has been on a hiatus since Monday, 9 November, 2015, when Season 5 Episode12 was aired. The episode, titled "Holding On and Letting Go", marked the midseason finale that showed Jenna (Ashley Rickards) and Matty's (Beau Mirchoff) decision to get back together again.
Three months into the hiatus, we still have no definitive answer to when the show will return with the second half of its final season, and considering MTV is yet to release the trailer or teaser for the same, "Awkward" 2B might be a while away. We may have to wait for another couple of months for the return of Matty, Jenna, Jake (Brett Davern), Tamara (Jilian Rose Reed) and Sadie (Molly Tarlov), but that does not mean we do not have hot gossip about their lives for you.
Although Season 5 episode 12 ended with "to be continued", we have learned that when the show returns, all our favourite high-schoolers will be a year older, meaning they will no longer be high-schoolers. This must come as a welcome change for all the actors who are in their early twenties.
One year into their lives as adults, we will get to see how Jenna and Matty's relationship is holding up. They did decide to give long-distance relationship a go, but will academic pressure and temptations seduce them off their path? Only time will tell.
We are also excited to learn about Tamara's life as a college student -- is she still on top of everything and making everyone love her with her "adorkableness"? One can't also help but wonder if she is still with her former fiance Adam (Brando Eaton).
We will have to wait and find out if our favourite characters are all happy and still in love, but meanwhile, let us know what you think will happen.
