"Angry Indian Goddesses", which is being touted as India's first-ever Female Buddy Film, has revealed its release date. The film will hit the theatres on 27 November.

Helmed by internationally-acclaimed director Pan Nalin, the film, also referred to as "AIG", boasts of a stellar cast, including some of the finest actresses from Indian celluloid, like Sarah-Jane Dias, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Anushka Manchanda, Sandhya Mridul, Amrit Maghera, Pavleen Gujral and Rajshri Deshpande.

The film has garnered much acclaim around the globe, and grabbed the audience's attention with powerful performances by the entire cast.

After being the first runner-up for the Grolsch People's Choice Award at Toronto Film Festival, the film recently earned the BNL People's Choice Award at Rome Film Festival.

While talking about the win, Nalin said it was a great sign that audiences were connecting to the film's story.

"What we started in a little village of Goa has gone global beyond all our goals. I am so thrilled for my cast and crew — and above all, it's a great sign of inspiration that the International public is connecting to stories of celebration of Indian womanhood," The Hindu quoted Nalin as saying.

Gaurav Dhingra, the producer of the dilm, said: "Nalin, I, and the entire team at Jungle Book Entertainment are delighted to receive this love and affection from the Italian audience. It reinstates our belief that 'AIG' is a people's film that speaks to everyone, across borders, countries, languages, gender and cultures," The Hindu repoted.

"In less than one month of its world premiere at Toronto, 'AIG' has made sales across the globe and will be released theatrically in more than 50 countries," Dhingra added.

The movie will also be screened at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival on 3 November as well.

"Angry Indian Goddesses" follows the story of seven girls who meet in Goa for a friend's wedding. The film then explores the fun, complexities, emotions and the simple madness when seven unique women come together under one roof.
