Asus Zenfone 2 Series Price Revealed; Tipped for India Release Next Month

Consumer electronics major Asus has released the second generation Zenfone smartphone series in Taiwan and is slated to release new phones in India in April.

Consumer electronics major Asus has released the second generation Zenfone smartphone series in Taiwan.

The company has launched four models of Zenfone 2 - ZE551ML (4G RAM), ZE551ML (2GB RAM), ZE550ML and ZE500CL with slight change in specifications of display size, resolution, CPU, camera and battery capacity.

First up, Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) is the top-end model. It boasts of 5.5-inch full HD display and runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS powered by 64-bit class based 2.3GHz Intel Atom processor Z3580 with PowerVR G6430 graphics engine, 4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB inbuilt memory and a 3000mAh battery.

ZE551ML also comes in a 2GB RAM model; it houses pretty much same specification seen in the above variant except the processor type. It houses a 1.8GHz Quad Core Inte Atom Z3560 with PowerVR G6430 GPU.

On the other hand Zenfone 2 (ZE550ML) sports 5.5-inch HD screen and ships with 1.8GHz Intel Atom Quad Core Z3560 (1.8GHz) with PowerVR G6430 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB memory and a 3000mAh battery.

Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL) is low-end smartphone among the lot. It features a smaller 5.0-inch HD display. Under the hood, it comes packed with 2GB RAM, 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor and a 2500mAh battery, which can run the phone for close to 360 hours under standby mode.

Asus Zenfone 2 series price details:

Asus ZenFone 2 4GB RAM model (ZE551ML) costs TWD 8,990 (around ₹17,900), where it's 2GB RAM (ZE551ML) model comes with a price-tag of TWD 6,990 (around ₹13,900).

One the other hand, Asus ZenFone 2 - ZE550ML and ZE500CL - are priced TWD 5,990 (around ₹11,900), and TWD 4,990 (around ₹9,930) respectively.

Asus Zenfone 2 series availability details outside Taiwan:

The company is expected to release the new ZenFone 2 smartphones in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and France in March, whereas in India, Italy and other Southeast Asia markets by April and in Brazil by June, reported DigiTimes.
