Taiwanese electronics major Asus has finally pulled wraps off its 7-inch Fonepad tablet at the ongoing international mobile convention MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Spain.

"It is ideal to have a larger screen with entertainment, social media and other online activities now playing an increasingly important part in our mobile lifestyles," said Jonney Shih, ASUS Chairman at the launch.

"The incorporation of 3G mobile data with full telephony support, makes the FonepadTM the perfect combination of a tablet and phone in one single device." he added.

The new tablet sports a 7-inch, 10-point multi-touch screen and the display's IPS technology allows 178-degree wide viewing angles, bringing out bright colours even in sunlight.
