Taiwanese technology firm Asus has unveiled a voice calling tablet, Fonepad Note 6, at the on-going electronics trade show IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2013, Germany.
Even though many perceive this 6.0-inch device as a phablet (a hybrid between a phone and tablet), Asus has chosen to refer the Fonepad Note 6 as a tablet. It sports a 6.0-inch super IPS+ display with full HD (1920x1080p) resolution having pixel density close to 367 ppi (pixels per inch). The tablet boast stylus functionality and 3G based voice-calling feature.
The Asus Fonepad Note 6 packs a superfast dual-core Intel Atom S2580 processor which can top a maximum CPU speed up to 2GHz. It runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS with 2GB RAM and houses an 8.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a 1.2-megapixel snapper on the front with smart camera features.
The company has claimed that the device will be available in two colours - black and white, with an optional protective Side Flip cover. It comes with non-slippery rubbery finish extra grip. However, Asus is still kept details of its price and date of availability under wraps.
Along with Fonepad Note 6, Asus also unveiled a slew of devices at the IFA 2013. It launched the voice-calling Fonepad 7, MeMo Pad 8, MeMo Pad 10 and a number of hybrid laptops and ultrabooks.
