Ubisoft's upcoming video game, Assassin's Creed Unity that continues the Assassin's Creed series, gets more information on its lead character, Arno Victor Dorian.
Dorian is unlike any characters in the game, he is not related either to Kenway or Auditore, but he is a new introduction to the game. Travis Stout, script writer of the game has revealed that he belongs to a family of Assassins, who have been doing it for a very long time. He also points out to the phonetic spelling in his name that is an older French/Germanic.
Travis further reveals the nature of Arno and the ideals that drive him to be an Assassin. He gives us an insight into the man he is.
"He is a very driven young man. He is haunted by mistakes in his past or perceived mistakes, that he feels he must atone for," added Travis in official blog post.
"He is very devoted to the Assassin Order as an ideal but, at the same time, he is not as impressed with the weight of the long mystical tradition and ancient rhetoric as some of the other Assassins. He likes to think for himself and make his own decisions. He isn't the type of person who will believe something just because someone tells it to him."
He further continues revealing players about Arno being educated and being raised in a noble household with access to tutors and books. He also revealed that Arno likes to quote from the classics and makes timely use of humour to take his mind away from any emotional vulnerability.
"We wanted him to feel like an actual person," said Travis.
Analysis of the Unity Trailer
YouTube user, ACVideos has made a detailed analysis of Ubisoft's latest trailer for Assassin's Creed Unity. He has shared some important details in the video.
The user noticed that the first scene where Arno jumps and stops a Jacobin from executing is similar to the trailer from the first game. It contends that even that trailer had a hidden bladed and the Templar sword.
This trailer shows Elise, further speculating that she will not only be helping Arno in battle, but will also be his romantic interest.
The analysis points out that at many places there is a character with a green hat that has been repeated many times. This shows that Ubisoft did not want to spend much on getting different NPCs.
Analysing the game's parkour and combat abilities, the user says that these will be also in the final game and not just in the trailers. He also notices that civilians have different kinds of weapons and wonder if Arno will be able to use all of them during the gameplay.
Arno's pocket watch will have a role to play in the game. He also points to the letters 'A' and 'E' that are written on the watch. Speculations were that it could stand for Arno and Elise. It has already been revealed by Alex Amancio, creative director that the watch plays have an important role in the game.
Unity is expected to be released on 28 October for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
