Kolkata, Aug 24 (ANI): Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley labeled the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as a priority area for him during his visit to Kolkata. Speaking to the media after his meeting with the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and state Finance Minister, Amit Mitra, Jaitley said that Central and State governments need to discuss many issues out of which GST is priority. The proposed GST will subsume indirect taxes like excise duty and service tax at the central level and VAT on the states' front, besides local levies.
