During the lead up to the Galaxy S5 launch, speculations were twirling on the Internet that a premium model with QHD screen would get unveiled along with a standard model, but the rumors soon met an early death after the official announcement in February. Now an ultra-high end Samsung smartphone has been spotted at a bench marking site, hinting Samsung has some surprise news in store for its customers.

Samsung's yet-to-be-released smartphone SM-G906S has been spotted at GFX Benchmarking site, revealing display resolutions and key internal component specifications.

Soon after word got out on the Internet, the webpage has been taken down, but by then, technology website, PhoneArena had taken screenshot of the alleged device's performance chart. [To view the snapshot, click here]

The handset SM-G906S reportedly boasts 5.2-inch screen with 2560x1440p display resolutions and test was conducted under Android v4.4.2 OS powered by the new 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 series quad-core processor backed by Adreno 420 graphics engine, 3GB RAM and 32GB (25GB available) inbuilt storage. It also boasts of 16.0-megapixel camera and a 2.0-megapixel front camera, both capable of taking full HD video.

Going by the specifications, this Samsung phone is more feature-rich than the current flagship phone, but there is some confusion among the tech media blogs that whether this device is the Galaxy S5 Prime or the rumored new Galaxy F series handset, which is said to boast the metal-body. Many are inclining towards Galaxy S5 Prime, as the device code name SM-G906S is similar to Galaxy S5 variant models' numbers- SM-G900H, G900R4, G900V.
