2013's HTC One was heaped with a lot of praise from tech critics and fans alike for its aesthetic zero-gap design and good build quality. Now as the HTC flagship smartphone comes closer to its year cycle, many are anxious to know what enhanced features will the successor come packed with.

According to numerous reports circulating on the internet, HTC's next generation smartphone is expected to see a bump in the display size, improved UltraPixel camera, a faster CPU and more.

Here are five probable key features of HTC One (2014) aka M8:

1)   Bigger display: HTC One (2012) sported a 4.7-inch full HD display and now its successor is rumoured to flaunt a bigger 5.0-inch screen having pixel density of 440 plus ppi (pixels per inch). Though many would argue that the display resolution of the upcoming HTC phone is inferior to the rival Samsung Galaxy S5's QHD (2560x1440p) display, the clarity of both the devices' screen will be hard to distinguish for normal eyes and more over, higher the pixel density of the display, faster the battery drains, reported Phone Arena.

2)   New OS with Sense 6.0 UI:  Few hours ago, the new Android v4.4.2 KitKat update was rolled out to Sprint HTC One subscribers in America, hence one can assume that the upcoming HTC One successor would ship with the new OS out-of-the-box. Apart from all new Android version, the new phone is also expected to come with custom UI Sense v6.0.

3)   Processor, RAM and Storage: Apart from the big screen, the new HTC phone is also expected to boast of a faster processor. It is said to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset either 800 (2.3GHz CPU speed) or the new 805 (2.5GHz CPU speed). In terms of memory, HTC One (2014) reportedly packs 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory.

4)   Finger-print Sensor and virtual display buttons: We have already seen 2013's HTC One Max boasting of finger-print sensor on the rear. Hence it is safe to assume the new generation HTC One will also come with this biometric technology. Apart from this feature, the handset is also said to include virtual buttons, instead of capacitive touch buttons at the bottom of the screen, seen in its predecessor, reported AndroidOS.

5)   Enhanced Camera: During the launch of 2013 HTC One, the company boasted that the new phone had innovative UltraPixel camera, capable of absorbing 300-percent more light than conventional smartphones in the market, but the critics weren't impressed by the gimmicky feature. Now, the company seems to have made amends to improve camera said an anonymous tipster to Bloomberg. A source familiar with the company's plans has revealed that the HTC One (2014) will boast of an advanced UltraPixel camera with twin sensors having enhanced focus and depth of field to snap a good quality picture.
