Nokia's much-anticipated Lumia 929 (aka Icon), which was long rumored for a launch in late 2013, is yet to make its debut. With the International telecommunication trade fair, MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014, set to kick-off next month, the Lumia 929 launch is expected to be just around the corner.

To help get a better perspective, we have pieced together a list of probable specifications which are certain to be featured in Nokia's upcoming flagship phone.

Display and Design:

According to many leaked photos circulating online, the rumoured Lumia Icon is shown to feature a metal body case with a rectangular bar contour and curved corners.

Even the recent images of the Lumia 929 dummy model taken by a Reddit user at electronics showroom Fry (California) also sported a similar external body design.

A few days ago, popular tech spy Evleaks released a purported snapshot of the Lumia Icon user manual revealing the position of buttons (Volume, power and camera), ports (USB & audio jack) and two cameras of the phone. [To view the user guide, click here]

The Nokia phone is expected to flaunt a 5.0-inch AMOLED screen with full HD (1920x1080p) resolution, just like its bigger cousin Lumia 1520.

Processor, RAM and Storage:

Nokia Lumia 929 is reportedly shipping with 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core CPU paired with Adreno 330 GPU. It will be backed by 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage.

Mobile Operating System:

Nokia's recently released Lumia 1520, 1320 and 525 run on the Windows Phone 8 with Lumia Black update out-of-the box. Lumia 929 is also expected to ship with the same OS. However, it is yet to be ascertained if Microsoft's additional firmware GDR 3 (General Distribution Release) is a part of the package or if it will released after the smartphone launch.

The new updated OS features include App folder (allows the user to group all similar applications under single roof), Glance v2.0, Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) support , Nokia Beamer, new and improved Nokia Camera app, Camera Refocus and Nokia Story Teller (photo album feature).

Microsoft's GDR 3 update is said to bring in rotation lock, bug-fixes, custom ringtones (can assign ringtones to messages as well), app switcher, storage management, driving mode, enhanced access features to help blind users and more.

Camera:

We already know that all high-end Lumia handsets are the best among camera-phones in the market and the Lumia 929 is no exception. Nokia is leaving no stone unturned to make its Lumia 929 become a top-of-the-line camera phone. The device is said to house a feature-rich PureView camera (probably 20.0-megapixel) with Carl Zeiss lens on the rear side and a wide-angle front camera.

The primary camera is also said to boast of an ability to snap simultaneous 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel resolution pictures in a single shot, and also come with support for dual-LED flash.

Expected launch:

Smartphone cover-case maker Incipio reportedly showcased the new shell-case for Lumia Icon at the recently concluded CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2014, almost confirming the existence of the rumoured Nokia phone.

According to popular twitter spy @evleaks, Nokia is likely to announce Lumia Icon either on 5 February or 5 March. Many tech blogs bet that Nokia would launch the new phone at the upcoming international trade fair, MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014, on 24 February as the company has officially sent out special invitationd to select media outlets for the press conference.

Apart from Lumia 929, Nokia is also expected to unveil Android phone codenamed Normandy, another metal-clad Windows Phone OS based handset Lumia 1820 and a tablet.
