Petr Cech has agreed personal terms with Arsenal, but negotiations are still going on over a transfer fee with Chelsea.

Cech is believed to be closing in on a move to the Emirates from Stamford Bridge, with the transfer tipped to be announced over the next few days.

The Chelsea goalkeeper has said he wants to leave the club this summer after losing his No.1 spot to Thibaut Courtois last season.

While Jose Mourinho is not keen on selling Cech to a direct rival in the Premier League, owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly given his nod to the move as a thank you for the terrific 11 years of service given by the goalkeeper to the club.

Arsene Wenger sees Cech as one of the final few pieces of the puzzle for Arsenal to mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title, and a fee of around £10-11 million has been mooted.

However, according to Sky Sports, a fee has not quite been agreed yet, although the report suggests the transfer will eventually go through.

Chance of a move happening were also heightened by Arsenal "Invincible" Lauren, who as good as confirmed the transfer on Twitter at the weekend.

"#All the best to Cech. Long time without stability in that position and another great gooner move to get the Premier League," Lauren wrote in his account.

Another sign of a possible switch was when Cech's agent Viktor Kolar clearly denied a possible move to Inter Milan, but kept mum when asked if Arsenal were about to sign his client.

"I have heard many rumours in the last few weeks of a possible move to Inter Milan, but that doesn't correspond with the reality with regards to Petr Cech," Kolar was quoted as saying by the Daily star.

"There has never been any offers from the Nerazzurri, they were just rumours and we never talked about this.

"Regarding Arsenal, I can't say too much on that."

If Cech does complete a move to Arsenal, Wenger will have to make a decision on which current goalkeeper – David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny -- to sell.

Szczesny was displaced as the No.1 by Ospina in the second half of last season, but the Colombia international has been tipped for a move to Turkish club Fenerbahce.
