The excitement level of football fans has reached a new height as the summer transfer window will be shut at 6 pm BST (10:30 pm IST) on Tuesday.

The clubs will be tabling their final bids for their desired transfer targets on the final day and amid all the chaos, Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger is running out of options. Arsenal are desperate to sign a new striker but they will have to finalise things quickly before the transfer window closes.

According Daily Star, the Gunners are looking for Edinson Cavani or Karim Benzema. The French giant Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) wants £44 million for Edinson Cavani. Wenger thought him to be cheaper than Benzema but that's apparently not the case.

"What is new for us, there are two ways. Before, when we were building the stadium, the big clubs came to buy the players from us. Now we are in a position where we can keep our big players but sometimes there are so many big players in the other big, big clubs who are good but do not play.

"So after a year or two you can get a good deal. Sanchez is a case. Pedro is another case. Arjen Robben is another," Wenger told reporters on Sunday.

Reports suggest that Cavani is trying to push his move to Arsenal by tomorrow (Tuesday) but that will only be possible if the Gunners agree to pay the fee for the Uruguayan talismanic striker.

On the other hand, Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli has claimed that Arsenal have apparently chartered a private jet to bring Karim Benzema to London so that they can get done with his medical on Tuesday.

If the Gunners want Benzema from Real Madrid, then they will have to raise their bid to somewhere around £50 million, which is even more expensive than Cavani.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's current forward Olivier Giroud has spoken about signing Benzema this summer and also opined that it would definitely be good for the Gunners if they can bring him in just before the transfer deadline, the way Mesut Ozil was brought in a couple of years ago.

"The coach [Wenger] knows very well what he is doing, and sometimes you should not buy just to buy, and sometimes there are not players out there that you need, who are available.

"We have a very good squad, with quality, and I am sure that with this squad we can go very far. But it would have been good if Karim had signed too," Giroud said in an interview to beIN Sports.
