Some of the greatest of the past will lineup at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday when Arsenal Legends play Milan Glorie in a charity football match.

The game, in aid of the Arsenal Foundation, will feature some of the biggest names of years gone by, with Arsenal featuring the likes of Freddie Ljungberg, Robert Pires, Jen Lehmann, Marc Overmars, Martin Keown and Nwankwo Kanu.

The Milan Glories lineup is a star-studded one as well, with Paolo Maldini, Cafu, Marcel Desailly and Christian Vieri just some of the big names on show.

Arsenal legends Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp were also originally slated to feature, but because of their work commitments, will not be able to make it for this unique match.

"It's going to be great fun," Ljungberg told Arsenal Player last month. "I'm going to see some old teammates, play some football and see the fans, so it's going to be great. As a former player, what you miss most is the banter in the dressing room but I think that'll be back.

"I loved my teammates and had good relationships with all of them, but of course the ones you never see who live abroad – it will be nice to see them because it's been a few years since I have.

"Arsenal is my second home. I stayed here for a very long time because I love the club and values we stand for. I work for the club as an ambassador now and coach the under-15s, so I'm still very involved in the club and it's going to be nice to be back."

Ljungberg is one of the star attractions, but plenty of eyes will also be on his former Arsenal teammate Pires, who, so often, made the game of football sheer joy to watch.

"I imagine Robert is fit," Ljungberg added. "He can't give up playing football! I think he plays every day so I think he'll be fit.

"There were some great players in the old era of Arsenal and today as well, so it's going to be nice to see them all. We're playing against a great side in AC Milan too. There's a lot of history in that club and the players who are due to play have won a lot of things too."
