Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has been offered a staggering £400,000 a week from an unnamed team in the Chinese Super League, which would see the Chilean earn nearly £20 million a year. The Arsenal forward is in the best form of his career at the moment and has been attracting a lot of interest from top European teams as well.

Sanchez just has 18 months left on his current contract and if reports in England are to be believed, the Gunners star is demanding wages close to the likes of Manchester United star Paul Pogba, who earns around £290,000 per week. Arsene Wenger, however, stated that discussions are ongoing with Sanchez's representatives.

"I would like to say the luxury in the modern game should be it is not only about the money. The players make good money anyway. The money is good everywhere for everybody. You negotiate more with the agents than the player so we are in negotiations, of course, it is normal" Goal.com quoted Wenger as saying.

Arsenal are currently willing to offer Sanchez around £200,000 a week, £70,000 more than what he is earning from his current Arsenal contract and this will also make him Arsenal's best-paid player. At the moment, Sanchez is holding out for more money and if his demands increase, Arsenal might be forced to cash in on the Chilean over the summer to ensure that he does not leave on a free transfer at the end of next season.

Sanchez, who is currently the joint top scorer in the Premier League along with Diego Costa, is in a strong bargaining position at the moment with offers pouring in for the forward. Whether Sanchez fancies a move to China still remains to be seen but his representatives will certainly use this offer to get more money from Arsenal or elsewhere in Europe.
