No TV show in the history of American television has ever had the uncanny luck of "Arrested Development". Despite dedicated fan following, the show was pulled off air by FOX after three seasons in 2006. However, the Bluth family clawed their way back to TV screens in 2013 via Netflix, albeit for the worse season of the series.
After Season 4, it was almost certain that the show would not be renewed again. But defying all bets, the show will be churning the fifth and final season containing 17 episodes, according to "Arrested Development" executive producer Brian Grazer.
Although no official statements were made by any of the stars, Tony Hale told The Hollywood Reporter that everyone involved with "Arrested Development" will be on board. "Honestly, I don't really know what is specifically going on, but what I do know is whether it's seven episodes or 17 episodes, everybody is on board," Tony said.
Although Tony is not a mouthpiece for Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, David Cross, Portia de Rossi or any of his other co-stars, he may very well be expressing the collective sentiment of his gang of friends.
Tony also expressed his desire to know what happens to his character Buster who was arrested for being a suspect in the disappearance of Lucille Austero in Season 4 finale, "Blockheads".
In the following interview of Bian Grazer with Bill Simmons, he says (24 minutes into the video), "People are loyal to it, and we're gonna do another 17 episodes... So stay tuned for 'Arrested Development'".
