Arijit Singh announcing his retirement from playback singing has left the whole nation shocked. From fans to celebs, no one is able to come to terms with the singing sensation announcing his retirement at this stage in his career. Known for his incredible singing skills and humble attitude, Arijit took to social media to bid adieu to playback singing.
What Arijit wrote
Arijit wrote, "Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey (sic)."

Arijit further delved into his decision and said that he had gathered the right courage to do something he had been planning on doing for a long time. He added that one of the reasons for quitting playback is that he gets bored and now hopes to see someone else come up and sing to motivate him.
"One of the reasons were simple, I get bored pretty quick, that's why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. So here is the thing, I got bored," he wrote. Adding, "I need to do some other music to live. Another reason is I am excited to hear some singer come up and give me real motivation (sic)."
