Apple's most-anticipated device of 2016 may be the iPhone 7, but at the moment, it's the 9.7-inch iPad Pro that has grabbed the attention of gadget lovers as it is not far from hitting the stores. Several details of the device, including the release date and pricing, have been leaked.

The Cupertino giant has scheduled an event at 10:00 a.m. PST (11:30 p.m. IST) Monday, March 21, to be held at Town Hall auditorium, Apple's 1 Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino, California. Apple hasn't revealed anything about the event, but reports have claimed the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be unveiled along with the 4-inch iPhone SE on the day.

Apple released a 12.9-inch tablet dubbed as iPad Pro last year, which made many think that the 9.7-inch series iPad could be killed, but reports of the existence of a new iteration from the smaller iPad series surfaced this year.

According to reports, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will have advanced display that can support Apple Pencil (stylus), anti-glare feature and smart connector. It is expected to be powered by an A9X processor, house a 12MP camera with 4K video recording ability, and have speakers around the sides. There are reports that it may share several features with last year's 12.9-inch tablet.

The WiFi-only model of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro with 32GB internal storage will come with a price tag of $599, reported 9to5mac citing sources. It went on to say that Apple will also release a 128GB model that support LTE cellular networks.
