Apple has increased the prices of several iPhone models in India following the launch of its new iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Duo. Instead of reducing the prices of older models, as is usually expected after a new-generation iPhone launch, Apple has made the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone Air and iPhone 16 more expensive.
The biggest increase has been recorded on the iPhone Air, whose price has gone up by Rs 30,000 from its original 2025 launch price. The standard iPhone 17 has become Rs 17,000 more expensive, while the iPhone 17e has received a Rs 15,000 hike. The iPhone 16, meanwhile, is now Rs 10,000 costlier than its original launch price.
iPhone 17: 2025 vs 2026 price
The iPhone 17 was launched in India in 2025 at a starting price of Rs 82,900 for the 256GB variant. Following Apple's latest price revision, the same base variant now costs Rs 99,900. This represents a price increase of Rs 17,000.
The 512GB variant has also become significantly more expensive, rising from Rs 1,02,900 to Rs 1,24,900 — a hike of Rs 22,000.
iPhone 17e: 2025 vs 2026 price
The iPhone 17e was introduced at Rs 64,900 in India. Its revised 2026 price now starts at Rs 79,900, making it Rs 15,000 more expensive than its introductory price.
iPhone Air: 2025 vs 2026 price
The iPhone Air has received the largest price increase among the models covered in the revision. It was launched at Rs 1,19,900 in 2025, while its revised price now starts at Rs 1,49,900.
This means buyers will have to pay Rs 30,000 more for the base 256GB model than they did at launch.
iPhone 16: 2025 vs 2026 price
The iPhone 16 was originally launched in India in 2024 at Rs 79,900. It remained part of Apple's lineup in 2025, when its price was subsequently reduced. Apple has now revised its starting price upward to Rs 89,900.
For comparison, Apple had reduced the iPhone 16's price to Rs 69,900 for the 128GB variant around the 2025 iPhone 17 launch, before the latest 2026 revision.

Why have iPhone prices increased?
The price revisions come immediately after Apple's launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo in September 2026. Apple has retained the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone Air and iPhone 16 in its Indian lineup but at higher prices. Apple's current India store lists the iPhone 17 at Rs 99,900, iPhone 17e at Rs 79,900, iPhone Air at Rs 1,49,900 and iPhone 16 at Rs 89,900.
The latest move means Indian buyers hoping to get a previous-generation iPhone at a lower official price after the new launch will instead have to pay considerably more. Among the revised models, the iPhone Air has seen the sharpest increase of Rs 30,000, followed by the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e.
