Srinagar, Feb 13 (ANI): Fresh spell of snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir brought respite for farming community, especially to apple-growers as it eliminated impending threat of damage in production. Paddy as well as fruit growers of valley expressed satisfaction over the moderate snowfall, saying it would provide the required impetus to agriculture in the state. The valley already has limited water resources for agricultural activities and most of the times the channels remain dry. Snowfall brings in hope of replenishing water bodies. The crops vulnerable to dry weather conditions are apples, apricots, almonds and paddy. Agriculture in Kashmir Valley is a major source of income for residents and most of the population depends on this sector.
