The audio launch of "Kaththi" is expected to happen on 20 September in London. There have been speculations that Vijay and Samantha will be performing along with Anirudh during the music release function.
"Kaththi" trailer is also expected to be released along with its music. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the audio and trailer release dates.
Anirudh has a good track record of hit albums, including the recently released "Velai Illa Pattathari" and "Maan Karate." He has already impressed the fans with his background score for the motion poster of "Kaththi", which was released on Vijay's birthday.
Expectations are high for the entire album and it remains to be seen if the composer will do justice to it. This is the first time Anirudh is working for Vijay's film. The actor has apparently crooned a love song for the album. It has become a trend to make Vijay render at least one song in his films. The actor lastly sung a romantic number "Kandangi Kandagi" for his Pongal release "Jilla."
Directed by A. R. Murugadoss, "Kaththi" is deemed as an action-packed entertainer with Vijay appearing in dual roles. Samantha plays the female lead for the first time opposite Vijay, while Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh makes his Tamil debut as a villain. Comedian Sathish of "Ethir Neechal" fame and Bengali actor Tota Roy are also part of the film's cast.
The film is produced by Lyca Productions and Ayngaran International. Its cinematography is handled by George C. Williams and the editing is done by Sreekar Prasad.
The shooting of "Kaththi" is going well and is expected to be wrapped up by this month end. The film is slated to hit the screens for Diwali and will be clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's Hindi film "Happy New Year," which is also gearing up for a big release on the same day.
The Vijay starrer will also be locking horns with Vishal's "Poojai." There is also a buzz that Vikram's "Ai" will be a Diwali treat for his fans. If the film is confirmed to release during the festival period, there will be a huge clash between these biggies to grab enough number of screens.
