Angry Reactions Downpour after Release of Corruption Convict Lalu Prasad Yadav [VIDEO]

As Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) founder Lalu Prasad Yadav, convicted of corruption charges in the fodder scam, was released from a central jail in Ranchi, angry reactions welcomed the former parliamentarian on social media.

Lalu was granted bail from Supreme Court on Friday on the argument that bail pleas of 37 of the 44 convicts in the fodder scam were accepted by the Jharkhand High Court.

Thanking the apex court, Lalu declared he would fight against 'communal elements' who want to have their 'stranglehold on Delhi'.

"I will go around the country to strengthen the secular forces. Narendra Modi, BJP or RSS will not be allowed to realise their dreams," he told PTI.

The 66-year-old former Lok Sabha MP was convicted by a special CBI court in September and awarded a jail term of five years for embexxlement of Rs 37.7 crore during his tenure as Bihar CM. As per a Supreme Court ruling in July, he cannot contest polls for the next six years.

Condemned for corruption, Lalu also criticised the anti-graft Jan Lokpal Bill after his release.
