Ppower couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor stepped out in style for the screening of Neetu Kapoor's upcoming film Daadi Ki Shaadi, which also marks the Bollywood debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and her 15-year-old daughter Samara Sahni, granddaughter of the late Rishi Kapoor. Samara is also set to make her first on-screen appearance in the film.
However, it was Alia and Ranbir who stole the limelight on Tuesday evening as they arrived hand in hand, looking elegant and stylish. Alia looked radiant in a chic black pantsuit paired with pencil heels, while Ranbir kept it casual in a blue polo shirt and denims. The couple smiled warmly and posed graciously for the paparazzi as they entered the screening venue.
A video of the couple from the event has now gone viral on social media, showing them being mobbed by photographers. In the clip, Alia was seated inside the car while paparazzi crowded around the vehicle, pushing each other to capture photos and videos of the couple.
The chaos appeared to irritate Ranbir, who raised his voice and asked the photographers what exactly they wanted. He then asked if they wanted a proper picture of the couple and instructed them to move back before shifting to another spot for photos. "Aap logon ko photo chahiye... chalo," Ranbir was heard saying in the viral video.
Following this, photographers could also be heard telling each other to step back, saying, "Peeche hat, peeche."
The video of Ranbir losing his cool sparked mixed reactions online. While several social media users supported the actor and questioned why paparazzi fail to maintain a respectful distance from celebrities, others criticised him for snapping at photographers. Some users also compared the incident with a recent airport appearance by Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, where the couple calmly posed for pictures.
Many fans, however, defended Ranbir and praised him for being protective towards Alia.
One user commented, "The paparazzi need to maintain a certain distance from celebrities. You cannot come too close or push cameras in their faces. Just because you have a camera or mobile phone doesn't mean you can start clicking pictures without permission."

Meanwhile, Alia will next be seen in Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal and marks Alia's second collaboration with Bhansali after Gangubai Kathiawadi, for which she won the National Award for Best Actress.
After much speculation around its release date, Love & War is now scheduled to hit theatres on January 21, 2027.
Alia was last seen in Jigra and also has the spy thriller Alpha in the pipeline.
Ranbir is awaiting the release of Ramayana, where he will play Lord Rama. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Yash as Ravana and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
