Like all Tamil superstars, Dhanush is all set for a mass release of his latest film in Kerala. His upcoming "Anegan", which is set to be released on 13 February, will hit 91 theatres in Kerala which is the highest-ever for Dhanush.

"#Anegan -91 screens release in Kerala on Feb 13. @dhanushkraja's highest ever screen count in the state," tweeted industry analyst Sreedhar Pilllai.

Dhanush's last biggest release in the state was "Velaiyilla Pattathari" (VIP) in 2014. The movie, which also starred Amala Paul in the lead, was released in 82 theatres in Kerala.

Meanwhile, when compared with other big Tamil releases in Kerala in recent times, the latest Dhanush film fails to beat the theatre count films of big stars like Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith and Vikram.

In Kerala, Ajith's latest film "Yennai Arindhaal" was released in 170 screens, Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" in 217 screens, Vijay's "Kaththi" in 192 screens and Vikrams' "I' reportedly had record release in 225 screens.

Meanwhile, mass release of movies can sometimes spell disaster for many. Rajinikanth's "Lingaa'' received poor audience reception causing huge loss to the distributors and exhibitors.

"Anegan", directed by KV Anand, is touted as being a romantic-thriller and Kerala distribution rights of the movie are acquired by E4Entertainment. The trailer and the songs of the film were released earlier and were received well.

The movie reportedly will hit 400 screens in Tamil Nadu alone and more than 1,000 screens in rest of the country.

"Anegan" has raised the bar for Dhanush who will be seen in four different looks in the movie. The trailers hint that the movie revolves around love, romance, revenge, fantasy and imagination.

"Anegan" has a star cast that includes Amyra Dastur, Karthik, Aishwarya Devan, Ashish Vidyarthi, Atul Kulkarni, Mukesh Tiwari, Vinaya Prasad and Arul Vijay.
