Samsung has finally started rolling out Android Nougat update to its non-flagship devices. The first device to get Google's latest operating system is the Galaxy A5 (2016) that happened in Russia earlier this month. Now, owners of the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) in India have started receiving the firmware update via OTA (over-the-air).

The South Korean technology giant has already released Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy Note 5, and now the OS has been rolled out to the Galaxy A series in India.

Android Nougat update for Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) weighs 985.58MB, while that of Galaxy A7 (2016) weighs 970 MB, according to SamMobile. However it may take some time for the firmware update to come to your device like any other OTA updates.

How to install Android Nougat on your device via OTA (over-the-air):

- Android 7.0 Nougat download notification will appear on your phone screen

- Press "Download" button

- Press "Restart & Install" button

- Rebooting will begin automatically

- You will see "Installing System Update" notice when installation starts

- Upgrading begins automatically

- Android 7.0 Nougat will run on your device after upgrading is done

You can also manually check availability of the new software by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System updates' >> 'Check For Update'.

Samsung is yet to announce the list of devices that are eligible to get Android Nougat update but reports have claimed that it will be rolled out to dozens of mid-range and upper-range handsets. People will be expect the OS to come to the Galaxy A series like the Galaxy A3 (2016) and Galaxy A8 soon now that the Galaxy A5 (2016), and Galaxy A7 (2016) have received it.

Other Samsung devices that are expected to get the firmware update, include the Galaxy J7, Galaxy J7, Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy J5, Galaxy On7, Galaxy C5, Galaxy C7, Galaxy C7 Pro, Galaxy C5 Pro, and Galaxy C9 Pro.
