Details of release schedule of the Android KitKat OS for select HTC smartphones have surfaced online.

Twitter spy, FlamBoyz has leaked an alleged internal document containing the Android KitKat OS update release schedule of HTC smartphones.

The devices, which are said to get the latest Android v4.4.2 KitKat with Sense v6.0 UI during May-June period, include HTC One M7 (2013 model), HTC One Max, Mini, Butterfly S, Desire 816 and Desire 610 .

The yet-to-be announced Android v4.4.3 KitKat is expected to get released for HTC One M7 in June-July, and  for GPE (Google Play Edition) models in May-June, whereas the newly released HTC One M8 (including the GPE models) would get the new update during May-June.

The new revelation is expected to enthuse mixed reactions from HTC fans as only premium One series smartphones are slated to get the new update, whereas older HTC device users have been handed a raw deal. The leaked list says that the new v4.4.2 OS updates has been canceled (or not planned) for  smartphones- Butterfly, One X, One X+, One XL, X+ LTE, One S, SV, One V, Evo 4G LTE, which were launched in 2012 and early 2013.

However, there is no proof to authenticate the veracity of the spread-sheet leaked by FlamBoyz. and until HTC come forward and clears the air, the report will remain speculations.

Last week, HTC officially released Android v4.4.2 KitKat with Sense v5.5 UI to its mid-range smartphone Desire 601 in Singapore; whereas the Desire 700 is slated receive the same update later next month. Since the process is being carried out in phases, the availability of the update varies in some regions.
