Samsung appears to be gearing up to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA (over-the-air) update to its premium devices like the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy A8 in the next few months though it is yet to announce officially.

It was earlier reported that the South Korean electronics giant may release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the Galaxy S6 first before rolling it out to other devices like the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 but it may not be the case, if latest reports are anything to go by.

The Galaxy Note 5 will be the first Samsung device to receive the firmware, most likely in December this year, before rolling it out to Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ in January; Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge in February 2016; Galaxy A8 in March; and Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in April, according to Samsung's Android 6.0 Marshmallow update schedule list obtained by Phone Arena. 

Other Samsung devices like Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy Tab S2 8, Galaxy Tab S 8.4, Galaxy Tab A 9.7, Galaxy Tab A 8, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7, Galaxy E5, Galaxy J7, Galaxy J5, and Galaxy J2 are still waiting for approval, according to the list, which means these devices may get the firmware late.

However, it looks like Samsung may not take much time to bring the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its devices as a shift to the new firmware is not as major as the one from Kitkat to Lollipop. Other major smartphone makers like LG and Motorola have already started rolling out the new firmware.
