Huawei has finally started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA (over-the-air) update to the Honor 7 devices in Europe after much delay. The firmware was supposed to be released to the handset by the end of February, but plans didn't materialise. 

HonorEU on Friday announced that Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been seeded to the Honor 7. It went on to say that the software download option will be provided on its homepage by the end of next week for those who can't wait for OTA roll out, which will be carried out in stages.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was seeded to the Honor 7devices in India last December. Huawei has confirmed that devices like Huawei Mate 7, Huawei Honor 6, Huawei Honor 4X, Huawei Honor 4C, Huawei Ascend G7, Huawei Ascend P8, Huawei Ascend P8 Max, Huawei Honor 6 Plus, Huawei Honor 7, Huawei Honor 7i, Huawei Mate S, Huawei MediaPad X2 and Huawei Ascend G8 will be eligible to get the firmware.

How to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow via OTA on Huawei Honor 7:

- Android 6.0 Marshmallow download notification will appear on Huawei Honor 7 screen

- Press "Download" button

- Press "Restart & Install" button

- Rebooting will begin automatically

- You will see "Installing System Update" notice when installation starts

- Upgrading begins automatically

- Android 6.0 Marshmallow will run on your device after upgrading is done

You can also manually check availability of the new software by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System updates' >> 'Check For Update'.
