OnePlus 2 may soon receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based OxygenOS update via OTA (over-the-air) as OnePlus has apparently started soak testing the operating system, a step that is usually followed before a mass roll-out.

According to Android Police, one of its readers has shared screenshots of OnePlus soak testing OxygenOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which has given a clear hint that its release is not far off. The report went on to say that OnePlus has added some tweaks like new wallpapers, an alert slider, and homescreen customisation.

A soak test is conducted to check if a particular operating system works well with a device before a public release. So, OxygenOS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be rolled out to the OnePlus 2 devices if the soak test works out well.
