Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Update for HTC Desire EYE, One E8 and Butterfly S: How to Install New Firmware

HTC has started rolling out Google's Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update to its devices like HTC Desire EYE, One E8 and Butterfly S. The new operating system is being seeded to HTC Desire EYE and Butterfly S in its home country, Taiwan, and to HTC One E8 in Hong Kong.

The firmware, Android 5.0.2. ROM version for HTC Desire EYE and Butterfly S bears 2.19.709.1 build version and weighs 1008.9MB, tweeted HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR. It went on to say Android 5.0.2. ROM version for HTC One E8 is 5.16.709.3 and weighs 708.86MB.

The HTC ROM developer revealed that only HTC One M9 will get Sense 7.0 update along Android 5.0.2, though other devices like HTC One M8 and M8s, Desire EYE, Butterfly 2 and other devices will get it when Android 5.1 Lollipop arrives.

Non of the current devices will get Android 5.0.2 + Sense 7.0 (except M9)...Sense 7.0 become available with Android 5.1 only on some models.

How to Install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on Your HTC Desire EYE, One E8 and Butterfly S Device:

Users of HTC Desire EYE, One E8 and Butterfly S devices should ideally get Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update notification when they are connected to Wi-Fi or internet. The firmware can be downloaded by selecting download option before pressing 'Install Now' option. The device will restart automatically once installation is done and the software will start running.

One can also manually check the availability of new software by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System update' >> 'Check For Update.
