The official update of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphones is expected to be released in October with restructured features. The features include updated notifications, lock screen widgets, quick settings, Daydream feature, Bluetooth Smart and OpenGL ES 3.0.

It has been noted that the Android ROM developers from AOKP have released an unofficial Android 4.3 Jelly Bean test build for the Verizon version of Samsung Galaxy S3, along with Galaxy Note 2 and the flagship smartphone - Galaxy S4, according to The Christian Post.

The AT&T model of Galaxy S3 has also been found to be running and testing the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean by GFXBench website.

Android 4.4 Kitkat on Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2

Android 4.4 KitKat will reportedly be released Oct.14, 2013 and will support older Android running smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2. The prices of the two devices have gone down as their next iterations - Galaxy S4 and Note 3 have entered the markets. One could buy S3 and Note 2 hoping that the developers may provide Android 4.4 KitKat update by the first quarter of 2014.
