Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was recently seen at the grand trailer launch of "Shamitabh" alongside Dhanush and Akshara Haasan.

The film also features Rekha, but the yesteryear's hit onscreen couple won't be seen together in any frame of the movie. After a long time, the two have worked together in a film.

During the trailer launch, Bachchan said that he is open to working with Rekha. He said, "Balki keeps threatening me that he wants to design a film together... Let me see if someone has a story which is appropriate... then why not," The Indian Express quoted.

Let's take you back in time to the films that made Bachchan and Rekha the most-intriguing pair in Bollywood.

Silsila

"Silsila" was Big B and Rekha's last film together. It was a love-triangle in which, some say, real life was brought to the reel. Even, Yash Chopra confessed that he was always scared during the shoot as in the film too Jaya was Bachchan's wife and Rekha his love interest.

This film was the end of the most passionate love affair -- both on and off screen.

Mr. Natwarlal

The action-cum-comedy film "Mr. Natwarlal" featured both the actors. The song 'Pardesia' was a huge hit and was sung by Bachchan himself.

Muqaddar Ka Sikandar

The highest grossing film of 1978, "Muqaddar Ka Sikandar", showed intense moments between Amitabh and Rekha on big screen. The audience enjoyed watching the romance between the couple.

Do Anjaane

It was during this 1976 film that love blossomed between the two. The film was a hit at box office and so was their love affair.

Khoon Pasina

The jodi was a hit on-screen as well and thus, they started appearing every year on silver screen. They were seen as a couple in 1977 in the film "Khoon Pasina." At this time, they were in love which came through in their on-screen performance as well.

Then with "Ganga Ki Saugandh" in 1978, and "Suhaag" in 1979, the couple mesmerised the audience with their romance. But later, the actress backed out from the relationship as she didn't want to be 'the other woman' in Bachchan's life.
